This article reflects updates to Davis Advantage that will be going live on 12/16/2024.

Manage Late Work

Your student will always be able to complete an assignment in Advantage, even if the due date has passed. Late work or any assignments completed after your designated due date will appear in red text in your Gradebook.

You have three options in Gradebook for dealing with late work: Accept Late Work, Extend Due Date, and Reset Assignment. You can make apply each option to the whole class (1) or for an individual student (2).

Accept Late Work

After clicking Accept Late Work, you will be asked to confirm that you wish to complete this action. There is no way to undo accepting late work.

Late work that has been accepted will change from red text to black, and the grade will appear.

Extend Due Date

The Gradebook also gives you the option to extend your due date for an assignment for an individual student or for all students.

You can use the calendar function (1) to select a new due date. You will then be asked to Cancel or Confirm (2) that you want to go ahead and extend the due date. There is no way to undo this action.

Click Confirm to establish the new due date. The reset due date will then be displayed in the Gradebook for that assignment.

Reset Assignment

In the Gradebook, you have the ability to reset an assignment by deleting a student’s grade and enabling them to begin the assignment again from scratch.

When you click Reset Assignment, you will be asked to Cancel or Confirm that you want to go ahead and extend the due date. There is no way to undo this action.
